Uganda 2017

Uganda 2017-

I remember when I was a little girl, I looked up to my uncle Lance so much. He was always coming home from far away places with crazy stories and stunning photos. His photography inspired me and I knew that someday I wanted to travel the world and capture people like he did. One place that he regularly traveled to was Uganda. He helped start a nonprofit organization called Action in Africa that provided scholarships for children to receive an education. Although he no longer helps run the organization, he continues to take groups of people to Uganda every summer to work alongside of Action in Africa. Several of my family members have gone on these trips over the years, forming deep relationships with several individuals through this nonprofit and in the community. In July 2017, I had the opportunity to finally join my uncle on a trip and go to Nakuwadde, Uganda with his intentional travel company, Simply Venture. Here are a few photos from this trip that document people that have become like family over the years and who welcomed me as family during my time in Uganda.
