Superstition Mountains Senior Portraits- Maycee

This was one of my all time favorite senior sessions with my little sister in Arizona! As the sun rose, we started at the Elvis Chapel, a cute little white chapel that was used in one of Elvis’s movies and is now part of the Superstition Mountain Museum! It is located east of Phoenix near Apache Junction and is the cutest chapel off of AZ Highway 88 with a beautiful mountain backdrop. We then explored parts of the desert and created some magic. Ever since my sisters were in grade school I have been making them model for me. Anytime I would get a new camera or new camera lens, they were always my first subjects while I experimented with new gear or artistic concepts. It felt extra special to get to capture my sister’s senior photos and brought back so many sweet memories of years worth of photoshoots together. Some of my favorite photos from this session show the sun peaking over the Superstition mountains, illuminating the desert and saying good morning.

I am so grateful how photography has allowed me to help celebrate milestones for people I love. These are captured memories that we will someday show our kids. This is one of the reasons that I think senior sessions are so special! They are photos that you will always have, capturing a very unique season of personal growth and excitement for the future.
