Durham Newborn Session - In Home

As I am finally creating this blog post, our godson Finneas is about to celebrate his first birthday! Wow! Time truly has flown by. Ann and Daniel have been our dearest friends ever since we first moved to Durham. It has been so special to watch both of them transition into their role as parents over the last year. This in-home portrait session so fun and I love having these photos as memories to look back upon. I think that the most special part of photography is being able to capture milestones in people’s lives and be able to look back and be reminded of everything we have to be grateful for. I love home sessions because it allows for every single family member to be a part of the photos, even the furry family members like Wilbur! One of my favorite photos from this day is of Ann, Danny, Finn, and Wilbur all sitting on the loveseat in their living room together just hanging out and spending time with one another.

You might notice from these photos that Ann loves plants! She has been my plant inspiration in so many ways and taught me everything I know about indoor plants, propagating, and now growing a garden. When we first moved into our house we inherited a massive garden bed and I knew nothing about gardening. With Ann’s help, we have now had a successful garden for about 3 years. For this family photoshoot her house plants made for the prettiest backdrop and it really is so impressive how large her house plants have grown! Here are some of my favorite places to buy plants near Durham: For Garden’s Sake, Pine State Flowers, North Carolina State Farmer’s Market , and Gunter’s Greenhouse.
