Surprise Proposal in Raleigh, North Carolina

Cameron and Elena had booked me for a couple’s portrait session towards the end of this summer. Elena had been communicating with me leading up to the session and we had confirmed the details including location, time, and outfit planning. Little did either of us know that Cam had been planning to propose for several months and was just waiting for the engagement ring to finally get delivered. The ring kept getting delayed but then just a couple days before our photography session it finally got delivered! Cam picked up the ring and called me right away to begin scheming of how we could surprise Elena with a proposal captured on camera. It was perfect how all the details fell into place and during our portrait session, Cam got down on one knee and proposed to Elena. She was SO surprised and it made for such a special and fun session. They were each beaming with joy and giddiness during our photos and it was such a blessing to me to get to be a part of this big moment in their lives.

This week is Thanksgiving and I find myself reflecting on what I am grateful for and as I reflect, photography quickly comes to mind. I love photography because it allows me to connect with people from all different walks of life and allows me to come alongside others and cheer them on during various seasons. It has given me the opportunity to not only meet new people, but to also make new friends. I love the artistic expression that photography allows for me, yet I think that the relational aspect of photography is the most rewarding part of it. I am so grateful for this passion of mine and all the support that I have received with it over the years!
